Dr Mest, the Clinical Director of Pier Medical Aesthetics, was involved in the pivotal research that led to the FDA approval of Sculptra for revolumization of the face. He trains other physicians in the use of Sculptra and other fillers.
Pier Medical Aesthetics offers extensive expertise in laser treatment such as photoaging as well as laser hair removal featuring the Palomar Vectus Laser, the fastest and most comfortable LHR machine on the market today. Laser treatments available at his office include IPL and the state of the art Palomar Icon System for Skin Resurfacing Treatments. They also offer the newest Thermage CPT system for nonsurgical skin tightening which is more comfortable allowing more energy to be delivered for optimal results.
Established in 2010, Pier Medical Aesthetics is led by Dr Mest, who graduated with Honors from Temple University School of Medicine and completed his post graduate education at UC Irvine.
He was the Medical Director of Outpatient Surgical Services at UC Irvine Medical Center and served as an Adjunct Faculty at UC Irvine as an Assistant Clinical Professor.
Dr Mest was the Principal Investigator on the FDA study that led to the approval of Sculptra, which made him a nationally recognized expert. He is also a consultant and physician trainer for Sculptra, serves on the medical education faculty of Galderma Aesthetics (manufacturer of Sculptra and as guest faculty at various Dermatology, Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic conferences.
Dr Mest is currently being featured on E!’s Botched. He has also appeared on several other TV shows, including Bridalplasty, The Swan, Discovery Health Channel, Good Morning LA, Fox 11 News and Channel 10 San Diego.
