Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP Therapy) is a minimally invasive, natural approach for the treatment of wrinkles, fine lines and scars in the face, hands, and neck, as well as stretch marks. Each treatment takes only 20 minutes, with results that last for up to 18 months.

What is Platelet Rich Plasma?

Platelet-rich plasma, also known as PRP Therapy, is blood plasma that has been enriched with platelets, which contain substances called “growth factors” that activate and rejuvenate cells in our body. The liquid plasma and platelets of the blood are essential for the cell multiplication process that is required for tissue repair.

What is Platelet Rich plasma used for?

PRP Therapy is used for the cosmetic treatment of wrinkles or scars in the face, hands, and neck (particularly the crepey skin under the eyes and neck) as well as wrinkles, acne scars, and stretch marks.

PRP Therapy, also known as the “vampire facelift”, is less invasive than plastic surgery, takes only about 20 minutes per treatment, with results that last for up to 18 months.

Which areas can be treated with Platelet Rich Plasma?

PRP is particularly effective for fine lines under the eyes. It is also effective for treating wrinkles, acne scars, saggy skin, eye bags, and neck wrinkles.

  • Fine wrinkles around the eyes
  • Wrinkles on the forehead
  • Wrinkles on the neck
  • Stretch marks
  • Acne Scars
  • Wrinkles on the lips
  • Nasolabial grooves

What is a Platelet Rich Plasma treatment like?

During a short office visit, a small amount of blood is drawn into a 10 ml vacuum collection tube (approximately 1 vial). The tube is then placed into a centrifuge and spun for 12 minutes to isolate the platelet-rich plasma.

During your MicroPen treatment, the PRP is ready to be worked into the area of concern.

A little redness or swelling can appear around the treated area, but most patients can return to work immediately after the procedure.

What type of results can I expect?

You will start to see a gradual improvement in the treated area over a 3-5 week period. Best results are seen with a Series of MicroPen with PRP sessions performed at 4-week intervals. Results can last for up to 18 months.
