What aesthetic problems can I treat with Thermage FLX?

Thermage FLX uses radiofrequency (RF) waves to diminish wrinkles and tighten the skin on your face, neck, and total body.

How does Thermage FLX work?

When RF energy reaches deep below your skin, its heat makes the existing collagen contract, producing an immediate tightening effect. The RF energy also stimulates the production of collagen and elastic fibers.

New collagen is at the heart of your skin renewal. As you get older, your skin produces less collagen. Loss of collagen leads to weak, loose skin and wrinkles.

As your body sheds old skin at the surface, it’s replaced with new skin cells that grow up from below. After Thermage FLX treatment, your fresh skin growth is strengthened by more collagen. As a result, your skin is tighter and better toned, and wrinkles are smoothed out.

What should I expect during treatment with Thermage FLX?

When you come in for Thermage FLX treatment, you’ll relax while your provider marks your face with a grid pattern that ensures your treatment is evenly delivered.

When the grid is finished, your provider places the Thermage FLX handheld device against your skin in one of the modules, sends out RF energy, then moves it to the next module. The process is repeated until all the modules are treated.

Each time the device is activated, you’ll feel cooling, followed by brief heating, and then more cooling. The Thermage FLX has built-in Comfort Pulse Technology™, which combines gentle vibrations and cooling to ensure your treatment is comfortable.

One session takes about 45 minutes. When your treatment is finished, you may have some mild redness or swelling, but these go away quickly so you don’t need to take downtime.

When will I see results?

Although you may notice immediate tightening as existing collagen contracts, it takes a little time for new, collagen-enriched skin to reach the surface. You’ll begin to see the change in your skin in about two months, with optimal results in six months.

Following just one Thermage FLX treatment, your results may last one to two years, depending on your skin condition and age.*
